The Forgiven Fruit

Text: Gal 6:9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

Theme: Being right with God takes lot of battle and loss, but this is what takes us into the promise land and ensures His everlasting grace.

Mat 7:13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow
gate… the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.”

Jesus Christ is the Lord of our sinful hearts; He is the Lord of our shame. We are the fruits of Christ Jesus and we’re His forgiven fruits.

The meaning of walking in the narrow road is to be right with God.

There is no way we can be right before God. So, God chose to send His Son Jesus Christ to enter that narrow gate, walk that difficult road and make each one of us right before Him.

Now by the grace of God, receiving the forgiveness of our sins thru’ the sacrifice of Jesus Christ we are right before God.

Is God pleased by what we do or how we faith? Heb 11:6

Eph 2:8-10 “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

In 2008 I lost my job and lost my health insurance just right after I and my wife learned that she’s pregnant. We had such a faith that God will supply all our needs. God indeed was more than faithful! No paycheck came in those months or we had any savings, but we ate the best food, paid all bills including our bulky mortgage on time.

I wanted to buy the best pomegranates for my pregnant wife, I was in grocery store asking God for the best deal for the few dollars I had. Pomegranates was on sale; I picked 4 of them for $8 and few more items – paid, came out, got inside my car and checked the receipt for a great surprise. The lady in the counter had billed only $2 for the pomegranates instead of $8. The first thing came in my mind was a big shout – God supplied my needs for less $$. I drove home, as I draw near to my home – I felt grieved in Holy Spirit. I wasn’t comfortable at all. I knew I didn’t do the right thing; I was not right before God. My fear for the Lord grew to the point that I started to wonder if God would bless me with the job that I’m waiting for or not.

As soon as I came home, I told my wife just what happened. She told me to do what I felt right to do. I jumped right back into the car, and went to the store – ran to the customer service to give back the 3 fruits that doesn’t belong to me. When I explained that I wasn’t billed for 3 of the 4 fruits – the lady in the customer service said, ‘no issue, you can have those fruits’. In my mind, I really got upset – why is this lady saying this – I just don’t want to play with God. I want my job; I want to be right before Him. I insisted her again to take back those fruits or I would like to pay for it. Now she said, ‘listen sir, I appreciate your loyalty. I’m this store manager – I have the right to give it to you, don’t feel uncomfortable – just enjoy the fruits, it’s yours!”

I got inside my car, closed the door and started to sob. God is faithful, when we turn out hearts to Him. Those pomegranates are not much great in value, but it valued a lot for me that day – because, those are forgiven fruits!

I struggled that day and finally made myself right before God and made His Spirit to rejoice again.

There is power in getting right with God in midst of all struggles, there is an eruption of joy and complete peace – like that of 3 Hebrew boys in Book of Daniel 3: 18 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who said “we understand you may take our lives but no matter what we want to be right before God, even if we reap no benefit out of it” (paraphrase mine)

Did these 3 Hebrew boys reap anything at all? Read Daniel 3:25-30 to find it.

If you dare to be right before God, God will rescue you out of anything and everything. God rules those who abide by His rules & regulation – how difficult is that to understand?

In the fallen world, Bible mentions about Enoch that he walked with God. How was that? He simply attempted everyday and succeeded in being right before God by His help.

We don’t know what we’re called to do, but there’s one thing we’re required to do – that’s to be right before God. I’m not saying you go live sin-proof life, which we can’t; that’s the reason Christ came for us. But being right is longing and doing all it takes to be restored to God and won His favor back.

This is the gist of gospel of Jesus Christ – God did not sent His Son to condemn this world, but that the world might be saved through Him!

The Unknown Ways That Take You To The Destiny

Text: John 3:5-8 “you can’t explain people born of God”

Theme: Life of a child of God will be difficult to understand for any outsider, and it would be difficult for a child of God to explain his/her situation to others – but the knowledge of God and being in the will of God give them the peace for that situation.

Joseph – think of the way he went thru, even now no one can explain why Joseph had to go thru all that he went thru to get where he got.

If we start picking from the Bible men and women who would relate to this – I tell you, finally we would’ve listed all of them mentioned in the Bible. Why, those who led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Rom 8:13-14 “Those who led by Holy Spirit are children of God”.

Point is, are you convinced to trust God with your life?

Do you still want to take control of your life, or humble enough to surrender back to the Lord Who is in charge of your life now.

Though you don’t understand or like the way – are you happy that God’s will is been done in your life? Such will have the peace of God and would finally inherit God’s blessing; because they’re on the way to the destiny. Only these unknown ways can take you to the destiny!

Do you know we love to be driven by our sinful nature? Sinful nature will please your flesh for the moment and make you assume you’re enjoying what you deserve and are in the right place, but leads to death not to the promised destiny. Sinful nature gives you the comfort of the direction you know, but its end is death.

Sinful nature simply means our mortal nature (without God – subject to death). So, anything that is not God’s will – would be out of our sinful nature. Sinful nature is not direct sinful actions such as lie, hatred, stealing, jealousy, anger, wrath, murder, adultery and such like.

There are seasons in our lives we need to allow God to do what He wants to do – there won’t be any excitement or fun about it, it may be painful rather – but we will have peace; those are moments we sense God in it and won’t make sense for us to do something about it.

Psalm 131:1I do not get involved with things too great or too difficult for me.”

What Psalmist mean by that? When life is uncontrollable for you, don’t try to control – that’s the time you got to know God would handle and you got to leave that wheel and take a back seat like a child. So, he said:

“Instead, I have calmed and quieted myself like a little weaned child with its mother; I am like a little child.” (Psalm 131:2)

And then he advice, “people of God place your hope in the Lord” (Psalm 131:3)

Look at what James wrote to His Church – James 4:13-17

Are you keep telling about your plans, that you would do this and that; if you have that you’ll do this; if you can do this then you can do that.

Come on, don’t you realize by now, that this life is too complex for you to plan and live with the “wisdom” you have?

Our human wisdom is not wise enough.

His word in 1 Corinthians mentions that simply ‘human wisdom is foolish to live by’. But encourages living by Holy Spirit that was in Christ Jesus – Who is our wisdom.

1 Corinthians 2:14 natural man will not welcome God’s idea; it will sound foolish to him.

1 Corinthians 2:14 spiritual person can grasp God’s idea and embrace it immediately – and no one can understand him how he is convinced the moment God spoke to him.

You just got to have wisdom only when you start to realize that you’re not wise enough to handle your situation. That’s when you relax loosing the grip of the bull that you’re trying to control for years, and afraid of – and only find that as soon as you leave the grip that bull turns back and run away. God took in charge!

When God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

1 Corinthians 2:10 says “Holy Spirit searches the deep things of God”.

Holy Spirit “searches”. He doesn’t just do what He wants. Jesus said in John that when He comes He won’t do anything of His own will, but will do only what the Son reveals to Him. He does things very carefully, searching deep what is in the Father’s heart – His will, plan, minute details and get exact specifics, and do it for you.

What a Helper we have! A Helper Who has the capability to really help! That makes a huge difference.

Once you learn to obey His instruction and start doing according to His will and way – there’s joy even in suffering, because you know in the end all is going to be fine.

Holding Back Only To Lose

“Then Jacob looked up and saw Esau coming with his 400 men. So he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and his two servant wives. He put the servant wives and their children at the front, Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph last.” Gen 33:1-2

Just Jacob had a new name ‘Israel’, just He saw God face to face (Gen 32:28-31) – but still he fails to demonstrate the transformation God brought in him. Jacob still couldn’t trust God to protect his loved ones. “he put everyone and everything before Rachel and Joseph!”

Isn’t it awful, the very 2 people he tried hard to protect are the ones he lost first! Rachel died very soon giving birth to Benjamin, and Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers.

We struggle so much, and would not trust God who rescued us. We try to protect things in our own strength and find our selves failing in all those attempts.

Do you struggle to trust in God’s faithfulness? Jacob who lacked faith was just 1 generation down from Abraham – who is the father of faith! Is’nt it amazing.

God is faithful, he did preserved Jacob’s beloved son Joseph all the while he thought he lost him.

Don’t struggle in trusting God, simply trust His faithfulness. He is the One holding you and all you have. It’s truly a great freedom when you trust in Him with all you heart.

Gen 28:15 “…I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you.”
