For he remembered his sacred promise to his servant Abraham.
So he brought his people out of Egypt with joy, his chosen ones with rejoicing. Psalm 105:42-43
God made the promise to Abraham when he was just a one man, but at the time of fulfillment Abraham had multiplied some couple of millions! This in itself speaks of the faithfulness of God.
When the enemy (Pharaoh) thought all this multiplication is to build his kingdom, God’s promise fulfillment time came – he brought down the enemy’s pride, strength and power by His word and delivered His multitudes.
No matter where we are today and what enemy thinks of us, we are Abraham’s children multiplied more than ever for God’s glory; God will deliver us to serve Him with great joy and we will go out rejoicing!
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16
Whenever we are in need, we look for someone who would be willing to help us. Those who are likely to help us are usually merciful towards us and acknowledge that we need help. But all those helpers would react in different ways – reluctant, try to avoid us, refer us to someone else, humiliate, teach us a lesson… Or graceful – which we don’t deserve, but appreciate heart-felt.
Relationship with God unlike any other relationship is solely based on our inability to help ourselves and being in need of God’s help constantly.
One can never be related to God if he/she manages all things by himself/herself without being in need of God’s grace and mercy.
Pride would be the only barrier that separates us from this relationship where God being our helper and we being the dependent.
Grace of God is the big loving smile of God that welcomes us into His presence no matter how terribly we were wrong. Mercy of God is the kiss of God on our filthy cheeks – which all other human being even refused to look at!
Let’s approach our Lord Jesus Christ boldly for this most wanted grace and mercy, otherwise we won’t survive very long.
So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest. Hebrews 3:19
Slavery for the Israelites ended on Day-1 they got out of Egypt by the plan & power of God, but entering into rest required their total obedience and trust in God.
“Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your heart…” is the message/warning all along for the Israelites. God spoke to them all, they all heard him, but some hardened their hearts and perished in the wilderness.
God’s deliverance is not the real freedom. The real freedom comes as we obey after that deliverance. This is the rest God promised!
Such rest is a rest from bondages, fears, failures, poverty, sickness, emptiness, loneliness and death.
Jesus Christ thru’ His total obedience has bought this rest for us. Our only work to enter into this rest is to believe!
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
Only in this way could he (Jesus) set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. Hebrews 2:15
Our sin gave power to the death and the fear of death to us, devil had death in his grip and Jesus took it from him by dying on the cross for our sins by breaking permanently that fear man had beginning from Adam.
The only message humankind craved for thousands of years to hear was how to be freed from the fear of death!
Religions and philosophers to temporarily numb the fear said and wrote their opinion of what death could be and what is after that – but it never freed even one human being from the fear of death until the message of the coming of the Messiah was unveiled by God to His people.
Death was put to shame and devil was stripped off of his authority when Jesus poured His life unto death, the message of the Cross of Christ became the Good News when God raised Jesus from the death!
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved.
So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:1-2, 21
When he (Lord Jesus) had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven. Hebrew 1:3
The glory, honor, majesty and strength belong to the Son of God right from the beginning.
The sin in our lives made the holy God not even to look at us but the mercy of God heard our constant pleading and wants to rescue us no matter what would be the cost.
For this reason of compelling love on us, the Son of God had to leave the most holy place, take residence among the evil, pay the ransom of His own blood to cleanse and redeem each one of us – so that holy God can now look at a cleansed generation of mankind and call them as His own people.
Now the Son of God wasn’t just Son of God but a Righteous King for the redeemed, Savior of the found which was lost, the Healer of the sick, the Deliverer of those who were bound, the ultimate Judge who has the final say – placed rightly to be worshiped and adored by countless that are freed!
And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. Revelation 20:11-12
And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Philemon 1:6
There is no greater generosity than the grace of God that He sends every single day to us who don’t deserve it but very much in need of it.
The realization of the grace of God in our lives alone will make us generous the way God wants us to be.
Christ Jesus when He came into our lives, has brought in great wealth that never could be exhausted.
The true generosity is not giving things to others, but to show grace to those who don’t deserve!
I have been sent to proclaim faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives. Titus 1:1
Whether you realize or not, whether others accept it or not – you are sent by God to proclaim His Good News to those He has chosen to hear it from you!
For this reason you must be saved. For this reason you must know Him. For this reason you must go. For this reason you must preach. For this reason you must live – live a godly life and show them how!
I, the Lord, have called you to demonstrate my righteousness… You will open the eyes of the blind. You will free the captives from prison, releasing those who sit in dark dungeons. Isaiah 42:6-7
Yes, and the Lord will deliver me from every evil attack and will bring me safely into his heavenly Kingdom. 2 Timothy 4:18
The will of God will never take me to where His grace cannot keep me!
The Lord is in total control of our lives when our trust is in Him. The Lord is more than faithful even when we gave up and are filled with unbelief.
The Lord simply trust in Who He is and knew He is able to save us, redeem us and deliver us irrespective of our situation, response or strength.
The Lord Who called me is faithful, He will do it!
And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day. John 6:39
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16
We stop growing in Christ and fooling ourselves the moment we start patting ourselves after reading God’s word.
The truth is our flesh never becomes perfect. We need God’s word every single day to come and correct our lives, remind us of who we are and where we would be without Him.
His spoken word alone is an anchor to hold us on a stormy day and His encouraging word alone will put the sail to our lives and take us out of troubles.
The willingness to learn new from a very familiar passage will take us to another deeper level to believe God.
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. Psalm 119:1-3
Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. 2 Timothy 2:2
God’s word is meant to be a river of living water that constantly flows and never stops or get stagnated.
The true faithfulness to listening to God’s word is putting it into practice in one’s own life that compels others to ask how we do it. Then, teaching them to do it without holding back anything.
The one who wants to know will become the faithful to do it and teach it to others.
But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. James 1:25
