Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him. (Genesis 5:23, 24 NLT)
God created mankind so intellect, emotional and decisive to have meaningful relationship and fellowship.
This expectation was ruined when Adam sinned, developed guilt, become unwilling to repent and couldn’t face God.
After many generations Enoch for what ever reason “abnormally” fell in love with God and had a constant fellowship with Him – which thrilled God so much that He can’t let him die and lose forever. God took Enoch to be with Him permanently.
John 3:16 says, God sent His Son Jesus to us – so our sin, guilt, unwillingness to repent & reconcile (Adamic nature) be removed, and we can have constant fellowship with God and live permanently with Him!
For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
“But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:49 NLT)
Jesus didn’t asked these as a pricking questions to Joseph & Mary, but asked as innocent as dove!
So, Joseph & Mary couldn’t argue and a paradigm shift happened from that moment on. They knew soon He would move into the very purpose He came for and they wouldn’t have any say about it. Since then, they had to learn to play the role of His parents fearing God, and be careful not to hinder His cause.
For Jesus, growing up was exciting; the more He grew, the more He was closer to His Father.
Shouldn’t be the same rule for us today! The more we grow, the more closer to the Father!
The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. Psalm 27:4
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8
John grew up and became strong in spirit. And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel. (Luke 1:80 NLT)
John right from his childhood lived up to His motto, “He (God) must increase and I (soul) must decrease!”.
The “I” he knew was his soul, which is his self will, emotion and intellect – these he made sure decrease; meaning these will not be strong enough to overcome his decisions and purpose for his life!
For this reason, he forced himself to live in wilderness where there is not much appetite for his flesh and until his soul (self will, emotions and intellect) submits to his calling.
As soon as he dominated his self, his spirit became strong by the power of God’s Spirit and His word – sharp enough to discern and pinpoint accurately the Lamb of God Jesus Christ, the Messiah to the whole world!
A great preparation was needed for that great calling and the great life of John the Baptist, it wasn’t automatic because God said so. Are we getting ready?
You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.” Luke 1:14-17
“When you arrive in the land where I am taking you… you must set some aside as a sacred offering to the Lord. Present a cake from the first of the flour you grind… as you do with the first grain from the threshing floor. (Numbers 15:18-20 NLT)
Not just entering the promise land requires obedience to God so He would fight for us, staying in the promise land requires a continual obedience so His power will keep us!
It is essential that a mutual trust is established between God and ourselves right from the beginning that we would be His people and He would be our God. This means we obey God and He will protect us and provide us.
First step to show God that He can trust us is by showing our first love is for Him. This means keeping Him first in all we earn, spend and do!
If we really trust God we trust His command to tithe (first portion) of all we earn!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.
Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:5-6, 9-10
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high. (Leviticus 26:13 NLT)
Mordecai in the Book of Esther lived with his head held high and would not bow down to evil and to the spirit of slavery, fear and constant threat.
There is a beautiful underlying message our Lord always wants to convey to us, which is – He is our King and we are His people!
If we are dependent on the world’s idol systems, then we will be slaves to it walking with a heavy yoke tied around our neck, and constantly feel defeated and cheated.
Our Lord God is always zealous for His people and He wants to personally provide, protect, heal, comfort and rule if we allow and trust Him.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” Daniel 3:16-18
The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked.
Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.” (Mark 10:26-27 NLT)
Until Jesus made this statement, His disciples didn’t understood that Jesus is the end of the law and there is not even a slim chance to get in apart from this Provision God made.
There is a time in everyone’s life where all our religious hopes will be shattered and then the authentic hope sets in – which will never be taken from us! This is called salvation.
Gospel of Jesus Christ is nothing but a shocking truth that we are wasting time by beating ourselves and others with man made rules and old wives’ tales instead of trusting the Way God made by the sacrifice of His own Son Jesus Christ Who died for our sins and resurrected to make us righteous.
Let’s put an end to stories and begin new life in Christ!
I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. Romans 10:2-4
But ‘God made them male and female’ from the beginning of creation. ‘This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.’ Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together.” (Mark 10:6-9 NLT)
God’s plan of “joined together” (marriage) is far higher and not comparable to “living together”.
When God join two to gather, He meant no separation there after.
Marriage is the only relationship where commitment is learnt, appreciated and rewarded.
The commitment is mutual to stay true and be in peace before God and to each other, even if all other relationships may have a misunderstanding for a season. Only then, there is an expression of priority on the new family over the previous family – with parents & siblings.
Praying and thanking God everyday for the spouse He gave is the key for this commitment.
The purpose of the marriage is the commitment to be for each other no matter what happens in this life. God is pleased to show His favor when this commitment is established between the man and his wife.
The man who finds a wife finds a treasure, and he receives favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22
Exhibiting this committed relationship in our marriage is the true gift to our parents!
