Occupy your street

Look! He has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!’ (Deuteronomy 1:21 NLT)

The closer we get to the promise land the more difficult it appears to be possessed.

Everything will oppose us to make us believe that we got the wrong address and mistaken this to be our promised land. Don’t be discouraged, take heart and move forward. Don’t be afraid.

God already prepared the land for you even before these current occupants moved in. You’re not going to take their land by driving them out, but you’re going to take back your land by driving them out. You must have the sense of ownership and this authority when you fight.

Let’s pay attention to what His Spirit says again –

Look! He has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!’ (Deuteronomy 1:21 NLT)

Eliminate the risk

The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. (Proverbs 10:28 NLT)

Godly are those who made themselves right with God and strive to stay right before Him by fully knowing their righteousness, sanctification and wisdom are only in Lord Jesus Christ.

The only way these godly/righteous can live is by setting their hope in God’s plan for their lives and the promises He made to them.

Such life brings great peace and will result in happiness because they eliminated the risk of depending on their own skills, abilities and smartness.

Often these godly look weak, incapable and vulnerable in the world’s eyes, but their success and joy would be shocking and indigestible! Secret is their hope – the source of unusual strength, wisdom and patience from God their Lord!

The bow of the mighty is now broken, and those who stumbled are now strong.
…He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor.
…No one will succeed by strength alone.
…he increases the strength of his anointed one.” 1 Samuel 2:4, 8-10

The promised battles

But listen carefully to everything I command you today. Then I will go ahead of you and drive out the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. (Exodus 34:11 NLT)

When God promise something and He start to move us strategically, one thing that we need to get ready is to face the unfamiliar enemies.

It is very tricky, how can you prepare when you don’t know anything about your enemies?

Every new place has a new battle for us to fight – which we never fought before!

The only way to prepare is to follow the order given by God by being diligent to listen, obey and trust in His leading.

It is very important on how we drive our first enemy! That will set the stage in how we handle the others.

When it comes to entering the promise land, we also have to realize that we are entering the enemies territory controlled by sin, shame, fear, guilt, deception and oppression.

These all has to be defeated beginning from sin, which we can do only by the blood of Jesus!

They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not love their lives in the face of death. Revelation 12:11

Moving into abundance

To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. (Matthew 25:29 NLT)

Where your heart is, there your treasure is!

Unless we are willing to risk losing we can never invest. Unless we are willing to spend time without any reservation we never learn to get best return.

If our heart is sold out to God, then we will give Him all we have. Whether it’s money, time, energy or thoughts – we’ll give Him out of obedience .

As far God is concern, He is the most generous, He not only rewards us for our generosity but enable us with what all we need to get much more generous – so we can become just like Him – really generous!

It is God Who gives seed to the man to plant. He also gives the bread to eat. Then we know He will give you more seed to plant and make it grow so you will have more to give away. God will give you enough so you can always give to others. 2 Corinthians 9:10-11

Wait, don’t stone me!

But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” (Exodus 14:13, 14 NLT)

Fear is the worst enemy that walk along us when we are led by God in His mighty power, looking for those moments we would become tired of faith.

Human emotions and intellect are the ones that makes our faith weary and gives access to fear.

When we know we are led by God in a season we should refrain from getting tired of faith, and brace ourselves knowing that faith will remain as a test until the promised thing happens.

On the flip side, a carefully guarded faith will put all human emotions and intellects to become weary. This is exactly how God moved thru’ Moses!

God will defeat our enemies totally when our faith is hated to the point of getting stoned!

What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us? We escaped like a bird from a hunter’s trap. The trap is broken, and we are free! Our help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:2, 7-8

You can walk on the water!

Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.” “Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. (Matthew 14:28, 29 NLT)

Jesus had absolutely no hesitation, not even a second, as soon as Peter wished to walk on the water like Him – immediately He said to Peter “Yes, come”!

Jesus unlike us wasn’t thinking who do you think you’re! do you know to pray like me, faith like me, how many years of training one should’ve to get here…

Jesus Christ clearly demonstrated that miracles never work that way, but by simple faith in Him just the way Peter had when he stepped out of that boat!

To do this miracle Peter don’t have to be trained anymore than to listen and believe in the words of Christ Jesus “Yes, come!”

What you battling today? No matter how heavy your storm may be, or how far you are tossed to, you simply ask Jesus like Peter did, “bid me come unto thee on the water.”

You don’t need to be a great prayer warrior and have years of fellowship with Christ to believe and walk on the storms of life, it’s by simple now faith in His spoken word you can!

Call upon Him, the One Who has the authority – He will rescue you!

I called to the Lord in my distress, and I cried to my God for help.
He reached down from heaven and took hold of me; He pulled me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. Psalm 18:6,16-17

The exciting life journey

The whole countryside is open to you. Take your choice of any section of the land you want, and we will separate. If you want the land to the left, then I’ll take the land on the right. If you prefer the land on the right, then I’ll go to the left.” (Genesis 13:9 NLT)

As soon as Lot has accumulated the wealth his need to depend on God’s leading (Abraham’s journey) had become pointless. He wants to settle down and have ‘life’.

As for as Abram is concerned, his life is his God and his eyes are on the Blesser not the blessings. Unless his God settles him, he don’t want to stop the exciting journey of God-dependence.

As soon as Abram proved his attitude, God spoke –

Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.” (Genesis 13:17 NLT)

Lot has gone, time to go and walk thru’ the land; let’s go!
