Vision is not about us

The tribes of Reuben and Gad owned vast numbers of livestock. So when they saw that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were ideally suited for their flocks and herds… “Do you intend to stay here while your brothers go across and do all the fighting?” Moses asked the men of Gad and Reuben. (Numbers 32:1,2,6 NLT)

When God gives us a vision, He expects us to reach it without any compromise.

More often than not, we settle for less afraid of losing the provisions He gave us; forgetting, if not for the vision we won’t have that provision in the first place.

We are where we are because of the vision. It is not acceptable that we reach ‘almost’ there and settle for less. The most exciting time is yet to come if we pursue all the way!

After all, vision is not about us! Why we settle for something seems suitable just because vision seems to be impossible? We know its far from who we are called to be. Let’s be bold to cross the Jordan and fight the good fight!

You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth? It certainly isn’t God, for he is the one who called you to freedom. Galatians 5:7-8

The wild spreading joy!

Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby’s mother, “This child (Jesus) is destined to cause many in Israel to fall, but he will be a joy to many others… As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your very soul.” (Luke 2:34-35 NLT)

The words, works and the life of Jesus – a mere 3 years and few months of His ministry had changed the whole world!

Religion had collapsed, kingdom had collapsed, people were willing to die, worst outcasts lives were changed 180 degree for good, unheard thousands of miracles started to happen in His Name and His gospel had become the fire in the bones of countless.

On other side, religious became murderers, so thought pious saints were found to be cults, God’s commandments had been redefined and all were put in severe need of true hope in God that Jesus had revealed!

It’s been more than 2000 years now, the fire in bones of those who believed has only became much greater and wildly spreading, His truth has become much clear, His hope has been realized overwhelmingly and embraced more earnestly, faith is understood, fear is fought, forgiveness is received, families and nations that never thought will serve Him has declared “Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Savior and only Hope. Jesus Christ is indeed the Way, the Life and the Truth!”

In His Name, many are been set free, healed, restored, equipped, appointed and sent to release His joy to every hopeless, depressed, oppressed and possessed!

Jesus, the King of Righteous and Truth reigns!

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God… Luke 15:7

A thorough preparation!

John grew up and became strong in spirit. And he lived in the wilderness until he began his public ministry to Israel. (Luke 1:80 NLT)

John right from his childhood lived up to His motto, “He (God) must increase and I (soul) must decrease!”.

The “I” he knew was his soul, which is his self will, emotion and intellect – these he made sure decrease; meaning these will not be strong enough to overcome his decisions and purpose for his life!

For this reason, he forced himself to live in wilderness where there is not much appetite for his flesh and until his soul (self will, emotions and intellect) submits to his calling.

As soon as he dominated his self, his spirit became strong by the power of God’s Spirit and His word – sharp enough to discern and pinpoint accurately the Lamb of God Jesus Christ, the Messiah to the whole world!

A great preparation was needed for that great calling and the great life of John the Baptist, it wasn’t automatic because God said so. Are we getting ready?

You will have great joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth. And he will turn many Israelites to the Lord their God. He will be a man with the spirit and power of Elijah. He will prepare the people for the coming of the Lord. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and he will cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly.” Luke 1:14-17

Shocking Surprise

“How kind the Lord is!” she exclaimed. “He has taken away my disgrace of having no children.” (Luke 1:25 NLT)

Elizabeth and Zachariah probably managed their expectation as they grew old and wasn’t expecting God to give them a child anymore.

When God gave John the Baptist as their child – they were old and it wasn’t a sweet surprise but was a shocking surprise to learn that God indeed want them to have a child and intended to give at His time – the right time!

Unlike Abraham and Sarah they didn’t had a promise to wait for a child, but they resolved in their hearts to serve the Lord and allowed His will to prevail.

Yes, Elizabeth was too old to have a baby and Mary was too young to have a baby – but it was God’s perfect timing to send John the Baptist, the forerunner and Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior in just the right time when we were utterly helpless!

God is very kind to meet your needs and give your heart’s desire – you can’t hope more to receive it sooner or lose hope to escape the shocking surprise from your dear Lord!

The Lord will work out his plans for my life—for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever. Psalm 138:8

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. Psalm 37:4

The burning burdens

I will come down and talk to you there. I will take some of the Spirit that is upon you, and I will put the Spirit upon them also. They will bear the burden of the people along with you, so you will not have to carry it alone. (Numbers 11:17 NLT)

Without a doubt delegation is a leadership skill to efficiently lead the people. But when it comes to the burden for the people – there is nothing we could do to delegate or share.

Such burden can’t be taught or trained. No words could describe the deep ache and yearning to achieve what God called and laid upon us. The burden has to come from the same Source we received from, when we were called – directly from God!

Gathering leaders before God often to intercede for the people whom we are called to lead alone will trigger this sharing and spreading of this burden!

When Lord Jesus called out the names of 12 disciples out of His many followers, it wasn’t done to give a position with a title but to appoint them with His burden!

“I’ve come to start a fire on this earth—how I wish it were blazing right now! I’ve come to change everything, turn everything rightside up—how I long for it to be finished!…” Luke 12:49 MSG

Prepare for an Overwhelming Victory!

A year after Israel’s departure from Egypt, the Lord spoke to Moses in the Tabernacle in the wilderness of Sinai. On the first day of the second month of that year he said, “From the whole community of Israel, record the names of all the warriors by their clans and families. List all the men… (Numbers 1:1, 2 NLT)

People of Israel were brought out from Egypt with greatest signs and wonders. In wilderness they were protected and provided miraculously. Yet, God told Moses to mobilize an army to defend themselves.

God didn’t led Israelites like cattle by not requiring them to do anything but simply to trust Him. But made them to become responsible, trained them equally as any nations army existed at that time and equipped them with all supplies needed for their families so they can be devoted to these duties.

Only on top of all these necessary duties He entrusted on them, He showed up in their battles, in their weakness, in their impossibilities and made them to conquer!

A God’s child is never exempt from training himself/herself in all that is needed to defend including his/her faith. When we do all that we are required to do diligently by His grace and wisdom – He will add His favor and strength to make us win!

Let’s prepare diligently as we are called not just to conquer but to become more than a conquer thru’ Christ Jesus!

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37, 39

As for me and my family we will

Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” (Mark 6:4 NLT)

God’s will is to save everyone by bringing them to the knowledge of the truth.

When God saves a person, it is His perfect will to save the whole family – where, He place the calling on the saved individual to reach the whole family with God’s love.

The saved individual since that time is expected to grow in passion, compassion, burden, humility, patience, mercy and wisdom to become a sincere servant in his/her own household to demonstrate the change in character, and a clean motive just to show them the love and plan of God.

If any of the above expected good/godly changes are resisted in that saved individual the plan of salvation for the family gets chocked.

Opposition, humiliation and rejection are very common towards the saved individual by the family and relatives – these are God’s way to bring good/godly change in the individual to come to the total submission to rely on God to make it happen.

The best way to handle the emotions due to such opposition, humiliation and rejection is to reach out the strangers, the unexpected and those in need of God – while keeping a constant eye for an opportunity in the family to tell it all over again!

One by one, surely everyone will be saved if we suffer, persevere and never leave the basic calling of every God’s child – to reach his/her own family.

But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers. 1 Timothy 5:8
