Is it easier to say ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up and walk’? (Luke 5:23 NLT)
Wherever Jesus went signs and wonders accompanied Him. Constantly crowds exclaimed woo-hoo, wow & hah! But whenever Jesus said Who He is the crowd wanted to kill Him!
They had no problem when He raised the dead but can’t stand when He told He is the Son of God.
Today, it’s no different. The crowd wants the benefits of Jesus Christ but don’t want to give Him the Lordship.
Unless we see and say what Father God and His Word say Who Jesus Christ is, we won’t have deliverance.
And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17
…God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
But Balaam responded to Balak’s messengers, “Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord my God. But stay here one more night, and I will see if the Lord has anything else to say to me.” (Numbers 22:18, 19 NLT)
God’s will is not going to change by waiting, negotiating or sacrificing.
His will is always good and just, and He is committed to protect and save those who put their trust in Him!
Thank God, He shows no partiality! Thank God, He stands strong in His commitment! Thank God, He makes promise and never change His mind! Thank God, He never desert us because someone else is better! Thank God, He truly love us and great is His faithfulness!
In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. Psalm 118:5-9
“When you arrive in the land where I am taking you… you must set some aside as a sacred offering to the Lord. Present a cake from the first of the flour you grind… as you do with the first grain from the threshing floor. (Numbers 15:18-20 NLT)
Not just entering the promise land requires obedience to God so He would fight for us, staying in the promise land requires a continual obedience so His power will keep us!
It is essential that a mutual trust is established between God and ourselves right from the beginning that we would be His people and He would be our God. This means we obey God and He will protect us and provide us.
First step to show God that He can trust us is by showing our first love is for Him. This means keeping Him first in all we earn, spend and do!
If we really trust God we trust His command to tithe (first portion) of all we earn!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.
Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine. Proverbs 3:5-6, 9-10
Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” (Psalms 50:14, 15 NLT)
A real tough workout to build our inner person stronger is to make our soul to thank God in disappointments.
Our soul has no clue of what it is to be thankful to God when it goes thru’ disappointment and has nothing tangible to hold on to.
Our spirit on other hand is humbled and is in want of God to lift it up and ready to do anything God asks.
Let your spirit be bold and lead your soul when it is tired and worn out. Lead it in thankfulness of all that God has done.
Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Psalm 103: 2, 13-14
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high. (Leviticus 26:13 NLT)
Mordecai in the Book of Esther lived with his head held high and would not bow down to evil and to the spirit of slavery, fear and constant threat.
There is a beautiful underlying message our Lord always wants to convey to us, which is – He is our King and we are His people!
If we are dependent on the world’s idol systems, then we will be slaves to it walking with a heavy yoke tied around our neck, and constantly feel defeated and cheated.
Our Lord God is always zealous for His people and He wants to personally provide, protect, heal, comfort and rule if we allow and trust Him.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” Daniel 3:16-18
Remember, the fire must be kept burning on the altar at all times. It must never go out. (Leviticus 6:13 NLT)
Doesn’t matter what we do or don’t in a day, our everyday calling is to submit before God with the fear that He is our Lord. We should never become cold and indifferent to Who He is!
It wasn’t easy for God to find us, save us and deliver us. The fire (His Spirit, the reverence for God) in us came from Him and it is our responsibility to keep it burning – we must spend time to guard it, feed it and use it.
Reason, by letting the fire go – we can’t start a new fire when we want it, that would be a strange fire not fit to please Him.
Keeping the fire on the altar is the only declaration/confession we could do daily to show that we serve God irrespective of our situation and feelings.
Listening and yielding to Holy Spirit is the only supply to keep the fire burning.
God is faithful, one of these days He will stir it up and we will see His glory!
Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. Acts 2:2-4
When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 32:1 NLT)
Following God’s leading could be very anxious if our lives are not surrendered to Him and there is a lack of trust in our part.
People of Israel were very anxious. All these time they lived as slaves in Egypt and “served” God in their terms, but now they were required to trust God in everything – literally everything!
This trusting relationship with God was too much for them as they were not willing to surrender to this new way of life – it was simply not comfortable for them!
As a result, they became restless and ready to appoint gods for themselves so they can please their flesh and fulfill their lust.
This is what spirit of idolatry does – it looks for those moments we become impatient, feel rejected, disappointed or feel void (notice, all these are either feelings or emotions nothing is real) and tempt you to bow down to anything other than God.
The only way to overcome the spirit of idolatry is to worship God in spirit (not in flesh) and in truth (not in feelings and emotions) – such act of worship is true surrender!
But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24
