But Balaam responded to Balak’s messengers, “Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of the Lord my God. But stay here one more night, and I will see if the Lord has anything else to say to me.” (Numbers 22:18, 19 NLT)
God’s will is not going to change by waiting, negotiating or sacrificing.
His will is always good and just, and He is committed to protect and save those who put their trust in Him!
Thank God, He shows no partiality! Thank God, He stands strong in His commitment! Thank God, He makes promise and never change His mind! Thank God, He never desert us because someone else is better! Thank God, He truly love us and great is His faithfulness!
In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? Yes, the Lord is for me; he will help me. I will look in triumph at those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes. Psalm 118:5-9
God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? No misfortune is in his plan for Jacob; no trouble is in store for Israel. Numbers 23:19, 21
Considering the constant rebellion of the people of Israelites in the wilderness one could easily think if God could ever love His people – until Numbers 23 is read!
How comforting! God could only speak blessing over His people, never a curse! That’s love unconditional, so full of love only God could express against the unworthy, undeserving and unlovable people – you and me!
All this He does, because He is our King and we are His people! The Lord is good!
He do correct and rebuke us all the time, but He is so zealous and protective – never allow us to be cursed or our lives damaged in anyway. He is super good! Our God, our King!
LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you. Psalm 130:3-4
For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Jeremiah 29:11
