Eliminate the risk

The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. (Proverbs 10:28 NLT)

Godly are those who made themselves right with God and strive to stay right before Him by fully knowing their righteousness, sanctification and wisdom are only in Lord Jesus Christ.

The only way these godly/righteous can live is by setting their hope in God’s plan for their lives and the promises He made to them.

Such life brings great peace and will result in happiness because they eliminated the risk of depending on their own skills, abilities and smartness.

Often these godly look weak, incapable and vulnerable in the world’s eyes, but their success and joy would be shocking and indigestible! Secret is their hope – the source of unusual strength, wisdom and patience from God their Lord!

The bow of the mighty is now broken, and those who stumbled are now strong.
…He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor.
…No one will succeed by strength alone.
…he increases the strength of his anointed one.” 1 Samuel 2:4, 8-10

Only He can do

When Jesus heard them, he stopped and called, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord,” they said, “we want to see!” (Matthew 20:32, 33 NLT)

2000 years before all Israelites believed in the coming of their Messiah, but few longed for the Messiah to come!

Those who longed aren’t just God lovers but it included God need-ers. Blinds were among those, because their eyes will be opened by the Messiah –

And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf. Isaiah 35:5

So, when these blind men heard that Jesus is walking down the street they rushed to Him with that one request that only the Messiah can fulfill!

We have this Messiah as our personal Savior Who finished everything for us on the cruel cross. What do we ask of Him that no one but only Lord Jesus can do?

So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:14, 16
