“Who will feel sorry for you, Jerusalem? Who will weep for you? Who will even bother to ask how you are?
You have abandoned me and turned your back on me,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 15:5-6
It is an undeniable truth that none besides the Lord Himself truly loves Jerusalem, which is His people – you & me.
We were all rejected, failures, hopeless and good for nothing left to sink and decay in miry clay. Then, the Savior came – the One and the only One Who felt sorry for us, the One and the only One Who weeped for us and the One and the only One Who cared for us!
But as he (Jesus) came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. Luke 29:41
Where will I be, without this forgiving Savior, full of compassion and full of mercy! Jesus, how I love you!
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime!
Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:5
What if the Lord had not been on our side? Psalm 124:1
This is one beautiful question to ask ourselves thinking back every single year / month in our past.
- I would’ve lost my mind if Lord was not with me in the past month of May.
- I would’ve lost my hope of eternity if Lord was not with me in 2011.
- I would be childless if Lord was not with me in 2008/2009.
- I would’ve been jobless and broke if Lord was not with me in 2008/2009.
- I would’ve not launched in vision if Lord was not with me in 2008.
- I would’ve lost my Dad if Lord was not with me in 2006.
- I would’ve stayed single if Lord was not with me in 2004.
- I would’ve been dead if Lord was not with me in 2000.
- I would’ve remained in the dark if Lord was not with me in 1999.
“For in him we live and move and have our being!” Acts 17:28.
If Lord is not with us, we would be a fish out of water – suffocated and soon dead. So, let’s praise the Lord. Yes, praise the Lord, don’t complain.
For the Kingdom of Heaven is like the landowner who went out early one morning to hire workers for his vineyard. Matthew 20:1
Lord Jesus Christ constantly emphasized the fact that there in no hiring freeze in His Kingdom, and there are lot of works got to be done – therefore pray to the Lord of the Harvest that He sends more laborer.
We read here in this parable, the landowner is constantly hiring thru’ out the day whomever he finds – importantly those who’re standing around and doing nothing.
Reason, His grace can’t go waste!
His pay isn’t our effort-based, but His grace-based.
You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.” John 4:35-38
