God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. 1 Thessalonians 5:24
Just the way God didn’t weighed us if we were worthy enough to be saved by the shed blood of His Son Jesus Christ, but saved us sinners by grace – He doesn’t guarantee our salvation by our strictest holy works and cleanliness.
But He guarantee by His Spirit breathed in us!
The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. Ephesians 1:14
It is a pride to think we are overcoming temptations and keeping the flesh clean. It will be a trap to fall soon as it exalts above the finished work of the Cross of Christ in our lives.
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Let’s boast about our weaknesses not our strengths. You’re far more stable laying flat than standing strong.
And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—Isaiah 11:2
The very first time Holy Spirit was able to rest on a human flesh – on Jesus Christ.
The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. John 1:14
Web defines rest as “Cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength.”
Now think how awesome God’s Spirit could rest upon someone!
There was no opposition to God’s will in the life of Jesus Christ. In fact, He delighted in the fear of the Lord –
He will delight in obeying the Lord. Isaiah 11:3
There was no oppression or cares of this world in the life of Jesus Christ, He remained gentle and humble – which delighted the Holy Spirit!
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
The only way to have rest is to allow Holy Spirit to rest upon us!
Let’s follow Jesus Christ!
