Is it easier to say ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or ‘Stand up and walk’? (Luke 5:23 NLT)
Wherever Jesus went signs and wonders accompanied Him. Constantly crowds exclaimed woo-hoo, wow & hah! But whenever Jesus said Who He is the crowd wanted to kill Him!
They had no problem when He raised the dead but can’t stand when He told He is the Son of God.
Today, it’s no different. The crowd wants the benefits of Jesus Christ but don’t want to give Him the Lordship.
Unless we see and say what Father God and His Word say Who Jesus Christ is, we won’t have deliverance.
And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17
…God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. (Matthew 7:21 NLT)
Without having a purpose we can’t serve any person or an organization with loyalty. We always chose a better place or a person constantly if we do for monetary benefits (either to receive or not wanting to give).
Serving God is beyond loyalty, it requires giving Him the Lordship (the supreme power to rule over our lives). This means we no longer live in our self-will or any others influence but solely on God’s will!
From there on our daily life begins by searching for God’s will by seeking His presence, His peace and His commands (Word of God – the Bible). The entire goal and purpose of our lives is then simply to ensure that we constantly live in God’s will.
In such life, there is no fear of failure, loss, competition, pride, jealous or rejection.
But it is a life of contentment, power and blessing! More than anything this life alone brings the great assurance of the eternal life in the Kingdom of God!
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2
(Jesus said) “If you love me, obey my commandments.” John 14:15
Lord Jesus Christ being full of truth, grace and just, never leave us to an assumption of our personal relationship with Him. Rather, He made it plain and clear – “if you love Me – obey!”
Relationship with Christ Jesus is nothing close to other relationship we have towards fellow human beings.
The relationship with fellow human beings goes up and down depending on various factors like you feel happy or sad or frustrated or afraid, you’re able to help them, you have a like hobby or faith or purpose…
But relationship with the Lord Jesus is in our mere obedience to Him. Period.
We can feel all excited and fall in love with Christ Jesus marveling at His thoughts, teachings and miracles He did and continuing to do – but if we don’t obey His commands, we simply assumed we are in love with Him – but actually we are not.
We can never say Jesus Christ has the Lordship over our life when we disobey what He commanded. This is a very simply truth, but need a big visible reminder on a daily basis.
“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?
I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.” Luke 6:46-49
