The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked come to nothing. (Proverbs 10:28 NLT)
Godly are those who made themselves right with God and strive to stay right before Him by fully knowing their righteousness, sanctification and wisdom are only in Lord Jesus Christ.
The only way these godly/righteous can live is by setting their hope in God’s plan for their lives and the promises He made to them.
Such life brings great peace and will result in happiness because they eliminated the risk of depending on their own skills, abilities and smartness.
Often these godly look weak, incapable and vulnerable in the world’s eyes, but their success and joy would be shocking and indigestible! Secret is their hope – the source of unusual strength, wisdom and patience from God their Lord!
The bow of the mighty is now broken, and those who stumbled are now strong.
…He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor.
…No one will succeed by strength alone.
…he increases the strength of his anointed one.” 1 Samuel 2:4, 8-10
I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high. (Leviticus 26:13 NLT)
Mordecai in the Book of Esther lived with his head held high and would not bow down to evil and to the spirit of slavery, fear and constant threat.
There is a beautiful underlying message our Lord always wants to convey to us, which is – He is our King and we are His people!
If we are dependent on the world’s idol systems, then we will be slaves to it walking with a heavy yoke tied around our neck, and constantly feel defeated and cheated.
Our Lord God is always zealous for His people and He wants to personally provide, protect, heal, comfort and rule if we allow and trust Him.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego replied, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” Daniel 3:16-18
But if the cloud did not rise, they remained where they were until it lifted. (Exodus 40:37 NLT)
One important thing as a child of God we need to understand that we never become stronger to live without God’s guidance.
Every time we do things of our own ignoring God’s will we become vulnerable – yet, thanks to His mercy that come and find us!
Nevertheless, when we are in wilderness it is our responsibility to wait on God to tell if we make a move or not irrespective of comforts or discomforts we have in that place.
The wilderness seasons are not an exception that we can’t do what we want to do, but it’s a training ground to perfect and practice the fear of the Lord – only to keep it for the rest of our life!
Joseph and Daniel were brought into a foreign land each in their time as mere slaves when they were young and able – but both chose not to rebel in their wilderness season and waited upon God.
God, Who knew how and when to make the right move – one day, made them to become second-in-command in that foreign nations because they learnt to fear God and resolved in their hearts never to leave Him!
This is God’s plan for everyone who dare to persevere to do His will in their toughest time.
So, if the cloud doesn’t move you don’t move; when it moves you move. It’s that simple!
I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me! I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word. I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations. Teach me your decrees, O Lord; I will keep them to the end. Psalm 119:19, 28, 30, 33
My eyes are always on the Lord, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies. (Psalms 25:15 NLT)
We will never lose anything by too much loving the Lord, or too much giving to the Lord, or too much focusing on the Lord.
World’s religious understanding is to maintain a balanced life of 50% relying on God and 50% relying on self. This kind of life serves no purpose and is a waste of time.
Total reliance on God with no reservation for self brings a simple, peaceful life where there is no fear even when there is a constant threat from the enemy.
When we get to this place, we are ready to take any tough assignments for there is nothing possibly can stop us in doing what we are called to do!
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13
The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed. (Genesis 39:23 NLT)
Success is being where God wants us to be! This may be in lowly servant hood or in a great position.
Joseph accepted God’s choice of where he had to be. This includes being thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, beaten and jailed after false accusations, and waiting for years in dark dungeons.
No matter where Joseph was, he saw the opportunity to demonstrate the goodness of His God to the people in need. It is astounding to notice that nothing could stop Joseph being a blessing!
Secret was, Joseph had resolved in his mind that he will be a blessing to his authorities and help them with God’s help.
He was a blessing to his father Jacob. He was a blessing to Potiphar. He was a blessing to the jailor. He was a blessing to Pharaoh. Finally he was a blessing to the whole world!
This is the way of being a blessing!
It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left. Hebrew 11:22
God given success in the world doesn’t mean we belong to the world, but to influence the world to the eternal Kingdom of God. Such success was the life of Joseph!
Joseph knew he wasn’t raised by God in power to make Israelites a permanent residents with equal rights in Egypt but to urge them to leave to the promise land when God’s time comes and never settle for less (Egypt).
Your success is in looking forward, never settle down – move on.
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. Isaiah 55:8
We never give a thought that God doesn’t think like us.
Any visionaries thoughts are usually 5, 10 or 20 years ahead of everyone else thoughts and constantly evaluate where we are with respect to an end state, which is the vision.
God is the ultimate Visionary, who can foresee years to come far more than any other visionaries who ever lived or living or would ever live.
God’s Vision is meant to fulfill for sure and being in the thoughts of this God is awesome and assures success for our lives.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Beware of all positive thinking and positive attitude which is foolish and still leave us lost and stray away far from God’s higher thoughts.
Leaving our thoughts and craving for God’s thoughts for our lives put us on the success path and the destiny we are called to.
