“But why did you need to search?” he asked. “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:49 NLT)
Jesus didn’t asked these as a pricking questions to Joseph & Mary, but asked as innocent as dove!
So, Joseph & Mary couldn’t argue and a paradigm shift happened from that moment on. They knew soon He would move into the very purpose He came for and they wouldn’t have any say about it. Since then, they had to learn to play the role of His parents fearing God, and be careful not to hinder His cause.
For Jesus, growing up was exciting; the more He grew, the more He was closer to His Father.
Shouldn’t be the same rule for us today! The more we grow, the more closer to the Father!
The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. Psalm 27:4
Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. James 4:8
And this is the basic law of the Temple: absolute holiness! Ezekiel 43:12
Holiness in simple words – to love God and do what He wants.
Holiness is the life God has called us to live. For this reason He gave this body for us. For this reason He gave this mind and senses for us. The only thing that can control all these and steer us in
His will is His word.
For this reason He gave His words – so we can believe, obey and be as a holy temple of God.
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. Psalm 119:9
The enemies of Judah and Benjamin heard that the exiles were rebuilding a Temple to the Lord, the God of Israel. Ezra 4:1
The enemy of our soul get so disappointed when he hears that you are rebuilding something he destroyed in your life.
Rebuilding something requires a renewed hope more than the provisions. More often than not, enemy attacks and destroys our hope – which makes us believe that we lost it all. But even that is another lie.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:19
Every promises of God when received in complete faith are fused with His Spirit of resurrection, that no matter how many times enemy attacks the hope and try to destroy it – the faith stays intact like a strong foundation, and with God’s help we can rebuilt again!
Ezra 4:1-5 captured how enemy entice to stop us from rebuilding –
- he portraits as though he is part of the team and try to involve in the rebuilding process
- he discourages the people who wants to rebuilt
- he frighten the people to keep them away from rebuilding
- he bribe / do anything to falsely accuse and frustrate the rebuilding plans
- he will wait for the season to change and try again his threats
Nevertheless, you will rebuilt – that’s your promise, your vision and you doing for your God Who called you to do it!
When the priests came out of the Holy Place, a thick cloud filled the Temple of the Lord. The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple. 1 Kings 8:10-11
Preparation to serve the Lord and His people is imperative. Preparation expresses sincerity and desire to serve.
However, the very purpose of serving the Lord and His people is to bring glory to the Lord and to bring His presence to the people.
Once the purpose is realized it is easy to serve the Lord and His people. Our attention no longer will be in what we have to offer out of our preparation for the service, but keen to flow with His leading and willingness to surrender / cancel our agenda.
What a blessing every time His glorious presence takes over as we enter to serve and we simply left with nothing to offer to His people but total freedom for His Spirit to move.
God’s presence (His Spirit) loves to take over and make us to do ‘nothing more’ when there is a total surrender, sincere preparation, devote discipline, tradition-broken, opinion-broken and hunger for His move.
Apostle Peter while was struggling how to preach Salvation to non-Jews at the Cornelius house, His Spirit took over and adopted them as the children of God!
Even as Peter was saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the message. Acts 10:44
