The tribes of Reuben and Gad owned vast numbers of livestock. So when they saw that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were ideally suited for their flocks and herds… “Do you intend to stay here while your brothers go across and do all the fighting?” Moses asked the men of Gad and Reuben. (Numbers 32:1,2,6 NLT)
When God gives us a vision, He expects us to reach it without any compromise.
More often than not, we settle for less afraid of losing the provisions He gave us; forgetting, if not for the vision we won’t have that provision in the first place.
We are where we are because of the vision. It is not acceptable that we reach ‘almost’ there and settle for less. The most exciting time is yet to come if we pursue all the way!
After all, vision is not about us! Why we settle for something seems suitable just because vision seems to be impossible? We know its far from who we are called to be. Let’s be bold to cross the Jordan and fight the good fight!
You were running the race so well. Who has held you back from following the truth? It certainly isn’t God, for he is the one who called you to freedom. Galatians 5:7-8
“Soon I will die,” Joseph told his brothers, “but God will surely come to help you and lead you out of this land of Egypt. He will bring you back to the land he solemnly promised to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” (Genesis 50:24 NLT)
Joseph was a miraculous favor in the eyes of Egypt because of God’s hand and plan for Israelites. From Pharaoh to the civil Egyptians, all viewed Israelites thru’ Joseph – so there was a value, dignity and respect for the Israelites.
Joseph and his people knew this well and it was a ticking time bomb – they would have no way out after Joseph dies. They had to believe in the vision from God to Abraham – that God will lead them out into their promised land when the day comes!
Until the great exodus, Israelites didn’t realized that it was the vision that had kept them alive not Joseph!
God will use Josephs to preserve and strengthen us, but His vision has to be believed to wait and get into the Promise Land.
This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Habakkuk 2:3
And tell him, ‘God blesses those who do not turn away because of me'(Matthew 11:6 NLT)
This was Jesus’s reply to doubters and those with a pre-conceived idea of how God should be and His plan should be.
Today many mock, reject God given plan and vision for their lives because it is nothing like what they thought or wanted.
Just the way Israelites rejected Christ Jesus and His way because of their religiousness and fleshly misconception of Messiah, many will reject God given vision and purpose for their lives. Let’s not be one of those losers.
Let the change of lives and fruits prove that it is God and is of God.
“Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work. But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.” John 10:37-38
Jesus told them, “Go back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen— the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor. Matthew 11:4-5
Soon after Rachel had given birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, “Please release me so I can go home to my own country. (Genesis 30:25 NLT)
God has a perfect timing in all that had to be done in our lives as per His will.
When His time comes, we will start seeing things which we couldn’t see earlier and we will become capable of doing tasks which we can’t even imagine before!
Jacob knew he have to get out of slavery and move on with God’s purpose for his life, but didn’t had the heart or the purpose to leave.
But as soon as Joseph was born, Jacob knew he and his family must get out and can’t delay anymore!
This is what vision does. If you’re convinced of your calling and learn to wait for it, it will wake you up one fine day and make you move from any lowly place to the place of higher calling and greater purpose!
Wait for it.
This vision is for a future time.It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Habakkuk 2:3
“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. Isaiah 55:8
We never give a thought that God doesn’t think like us.
Any visionaries thoughts are usually 5, 10 or 20 years ahead of everyone else thoughts and constantly evaluate where we are with respect to an end state, which is the vision.
God is the ultimate Visionary, who can foresee years to come far more than any other visionaries who ever lived or living or would ever live.
God’s Vision is meant to fulfill for sure and being in the thoughts of this God is awesome and assures success for our lives.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Beware of all positive thinking and positive attitude which is foolish and still leave us lost and stray away far from God’s higher thoughts.
Leaving our thoughts and craving for God’s thoughts for our lives put us on the success path and the destiny we are called to.
Choose your thoughts and ways today –
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said. Acts 28:22-25
This shipwreck incident during Paul’s sail towards Rome was exactly opposite to Jonah’s sail away from Nineveh!
Paul obeyed God given Vision/Promise/Purpose, whereas Jonah ran away from God given Vision/Promise/Purpose.
Scores of fellow passengers and crews lives were saved because they had Paul travelled with them, whereas every passengers and crews lives were endangered because Jonah travelled with them.
Paul had to cry out when sailors attempted to jump in the water so they would live, whereas Jonah had to cry out to throw him into the water so all others could live.
Obedience to God given Vision/Promise/Purpose will not only save our lives but everyone with us – even those who refuse to listen/obey or despise it. Vision preserves multitudes irrespective whether people respect/appreciate it or not! God is good and generous, so as His Vision/Promise/Purpose!
Disobedience puts all lives in jeopardy and there is no way out unless we hit the rock bottom that Mr.Jonah hit!
Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “This message you have given me from the Lord is good.” For the king was thinking, “At least there will be peace and security during my lifetime.” 2 King 20:19
Greediness is not just intense selfish desire to obtain more, but also to careless of people around us and successors.
Without a doubt a leader brings in the provision and protects his people from harm. But as long as the leadership is done due to mere responsibility, it doesn’t inspires people to follow; however, if the same effort is done due to a vision which would fulfill beyond the life time of the leader, then it force-inspires his people to follow him.
Everything we do without a vision leaves people to perish when we are gone.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverb 29:18
A visionless team would be either a one-man show or a no-one-leads-us gang which will fall apart when there is a disagreement or an unexpected event.
A vision team whereas will have a clearly distinguished leader and an established hierarchy which will work with goals beyond their life time, and provides space for ample growth for all to grow – which in turn pushes the leadership up constantly!
God gives vision (not any man), baptize with One Spirit (unity, honor & love), establishes strategical hierarchy (authority, mentoring & delegation) forms task-oriented teams (appointment) and produce lasting fruits.
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other. John 15:16-17
